 Even if a chat room is set to persistent, you are not actually in the room
 until you join first, either by setting Pidgin to autojoin or by  manually
 by joining the room. The only problem with this is that if you want to
 idle in a few rooms, you then need to close the windows for each of those
 rooms manually.

 It would be nice if there was an option to 'autojoin minimized', for
 persistent groups, so that the client would automatically join, but the
 chat window would not automatically open.
