 I've been observing this bug for a long time.

 For example, I want to type the word "привет" (in Russian). I type the
 first letter ("п") in any ncurses input box and see the latin "M" letter
 instead. Than I type second letter ("р") and I see that the the first
 letter changes from "M" to "п", so the inputing word become correct.

 I have no any plugins installed. My system is Debian Wheezy.
