New description:

 Pidgin hangs regularly, does not update any window and can only be
 restarted after a kill.

 This time I ran pidgin -d
 saved the log file (pidgin.log),
 the shell output (pidgin-run.log),
 and send it a kill signal number 5 (TRAP) to kill it
 saving the resulting trace-back (Pidgin-bugreport.txt)

 P.S, I run Debian squeeze with pidgin 2.7.3
