 Couldn't find any results for this.

 When viewing logs of AIM conversations, each message from the other person
 is preceded by an <HTML> tag, no more, no less, in this way:

 (8:56:25 PM) friend: <HTML>i wasn't there

 (8:56:40 PM) friend: <HTML>That was at 11:20

 This does not always happen and seemingly occurs regardless of whether or
 not the person uses any font formatting.

 Has been an issue for years, persists with every update.

 Possibly only happens if the person is on a Mac? I have no idea, I
 apologize for my helplessness.
