#14947: Unifon TTF font causes entry widget to explode in size
-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------
Reporter: cy | Type: defect
Status: new | Component: pidgin (gtk)
 Version: 2.10.1 | Keywords:
-------------------+--------------------------------------------------------
Using this font: http://www.unifon.org/htm/Unifon-F-2005.ttf is impossible
in pidgin, because for some reason when you select it as "Font Face" in a
supporting conversation, the font is treated as something like 100000000pt
and resizes the entry widget, and therefore the conversation window, to at
least 10 times the size of my screen. Typing is pretty impossible.

I have successfully used the font in several GTK applications, including
leafpad, gucharmap, Firefox, and python tkinter, without issue. Only in
pidgin does it exhibit this bizarre ginormous size interpretation.

I'm on a Linux machine with GTK 2.24.9.

 Also applies to:
 http://www.unifon.org/htm/Unifon-K-2005.ttf
 http://www.unifon.org/htm/Unifon_%20D_2005.ttf
 http://www.unifon.org/htm/Unifon%20Ra%202005.ttf

QuLogic on Freenode mentioned that the fonts have some points with
negative coordinates. That's probably what's going on here. (unsigned
int)-13 => ginormous. No reason any app should work with broken fonts. I
just wanted to point it out to see why pidgin alone seems to get tripped
 up by it.
