 I'd like to second the motion of meta-contact, or identity based buddy
 pounces.

 The most frequent use case I expirience is just wanting to get alerted
 when a buddy goes online. In the case of any buddy with more than one
 contact, I need to set up a new pounce for each of his accounts. With some
 of my friends/coworkers, this number sometimes reaches 5-6! It really is
 annoying not to be able to just add a pounce to the identity I want to
 chat with.

 "I would like to chat with Sean about wibbles, please inform me when he
 goes online"
