 Oh, sorry. I was under the impression that Pidgin was able to use OpenSSL.
 Then it's just GnuTLS and NSS, okay.

 Yes, the licensing question is a very good one, but since I am really not
 into license stuff I can't help on this end. I don't know if an
 abstraction layer would need to use the most-restrictive license of all
 the supported libraries.
