 Hi.

 Given that GIF and animated GIFs have their known drawbacks (proprietary,
 8bit colours, no alpha channel) it would be nice to see support for
 animated PNG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APNG), which is not MNG btw.

 Even if other (well especially proprietary clients) won't support it, it
 would be highly useful for people that have many pidgin contacts and that
 make up their own smiley themes.
 And other open source clients can be extended, too.

 APNG is further supported by all Mozilla Browsers and WebKit support is
 under way (so this is not just a small niche format).
