I have an AIM chatroom added to my buddy list and normally I doulble click
it to open it. Today I double clicked it and entered the room and
accidentally double clicked on it again with the window already open. Then
the window shows that I'm disconnected from this chat in red text. After I
close the window I'm never able to connect to the chat again. Nothing
happens, no error message, no new window, nothing. I then installed AIM 7
and invited myself to the group chat, but the "option" on the top right
corner of the window shows "block(ctrl+J)" is checked and I can't uncheck
it. I tried uninstalling Pidgin, rebooting the computer but nothing
helped. I could still group chat using another AIM account on my computer,
even using Pidgin. So it seems to be associated with the account setting
and not Pidgin setting. Then I added a chatroom in that second account and
did the same thing- double clicked twice and closed the window. Now I
can't connect to the chat room anymore using the second account. And when
I log into AIM using the second account, same thing happened- option in
the chat window shows it as blocked and I can't uncheck it.
So it seems that double clicking on the chatroom twice will somehow block
the group chat function and no uninstalling or changing software will
help. I don't have any add-ons enabled. And it seems that after i do this
in Pidgin, no matter what program I use to sign it they're all affected. I
need that account for work so I really need it to work again. Any help is
appreciated! Thanks!
