 The issue with the ubuntu integration (no individual tray icon for pidgin)
 is preventing me from performing a WORK-AROUND for the issue being
 discussed here, which is only partially fixed.

 I take as granted that if you close pidgin while hidden, the window won't
 show up the next time you run it. But if I shut down the system with
 pidgin hidden, it should behave the same way as when closing pidgin
 without rebooting. So part of the issue is still there: it only saves its
 "hidden status" if you close it manually, but it doesn't save its status
 when forced to close by a system shutdown.

 Unless this very last one is exactly the ubuntu integration issue you were
 talking about?
