Comment:

 That's entirely up to Microsoft. We have no idea whether they will kill
 just the client or the entire protocol that we use. Additionally, if they
 did kill that protocol entirely, there is no public, legal description of
 the protocol used by Skype available for us to implement (if we were
 inclined to do so).
