 Facebook is not the only XMPP server that enforces a roster structure.
 Openfire, at least, can be configured to enforce a roster structure, and
 is in fact so configured in a number of corporate environments.  Any
 roster modification requests are outright rejected in this configuration,
 just as on Facebook's XMPP server.

 I guarantee that if we were to ignore the server-side roster structure,
 we'd have people whining that when they sign into Facebook Chat with a
 different XMPP client the groupings they configured in Pidgin don't carry
 over and Pidgin is "obviously broken" because of that.  We're damned if we
 do and damned if we don't.  As a Pidgin developer, it's my opinion that we
 should leave things as they are.  It really isn't ''that'' much of an
 inconvenience.  If it bothers anyone that much, there ''is'' the web
 interface for Facebook Chat.
