 This key combo doesn't work, but it does work everywhere else. This is
 very commonly used to type the euro-sign (Ctrl+Alt+5) or vowels with an
 accent or something. The conversation textbox simply doesn't do anything
 when using such key combos, and no character is inserted at all - not even
 a bogus one.

 This is on Windows 7 x64, Pidgin 2.10.6 portable, keyboard layout is set
 to US-international.
