Comment(by jchristophe):
Hi all,
Looking to accomplish the same thing between linux and windows hosts.
Instead of using GPG encryption I use Encfs on linux hosts and a 3rd party
service with client side encryption (BoxCryptor) that stores encrypted
files on my Dropbox.
This seems way easier to setup although it does depend on the 3rd party
service not failing when it comes to decrypting files on windows hosts.
I am bumping this ticket as "pidgin/purple appears to clobber any files it
touches", here the accounts.xml, breaking symlinks, hence not allowing
changes to be saved to the linked file but overwriting the link with a
hard copy of the file in the .purple directory. This still the case in
v2.10.6.
If something could be done to fix this issue it would be very much
appreciated.
If you feel this should be a separate ticket please let me know.
