Comment:

 The Buddies->Show->Protocol Icons option in the buddy list will do this
 for you assuming you have the infopane in conversation windows turned on
 (yes, not entirely obvious but the infopane is designed to look like a
 buddy list entry so it makes sense).

 That said the plugin looks mostly fine though I would recommend getting
 rid of the empty deleted callback since you aren't using it and you aren't
 handling contactized conversation windows at all (if you have a combined
 contact in the buddy list the conversation window will switch between
 those buddies as needed but I don't think your plugin would update to
 match).

 Out of curiosity why do you want this anyway?
