Comment:

 From Pidgin's perspective, all the buddies *are* signing in when a given
 account logs in.  This is also the behavior that was shown by a number of
 IM clients long ago when Pidgin was designed, including AIM and even MSN.
 I don't see any compelling argument to change this behavior.
