#15716: (Offline?) Message Order
--------------------+-----------------------------
 Reporter: fhaag | Owner: datallah
     Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: | Component: winpidgin (gtk)
  Version: 2.10.7 | Keywords: order
--------------------+-----------------------------
I am repeatedly seeing the issue that when receiving offline messages,
they are not displayed in the order they were sent in.

 * I do not know whether it only applies to offline messages; maybe the
respective problem exists with any messages, just that online messages
usually arrive one at a time at the Pidgin client.
 * I am seeing this issue with offline messages sent from AOL to a GMail
account, though it may be present in other (all?) networks, too.

From earlier, similar issues within and related to Pidgin such as #12058
 or [http://code.google.com/p/skype4pidgin/issues/detail?id=98 this], I
understand that Pidgin generally displays messages in the order it
 receives them from the server.

However, I am seeing the messages with their correct timestamps, which
means that Pidgin apparently does have the necessary information to
reorder the messages in their correct temporal order. Currently, I have to
do this manually, based on the displayed timestamps - and I think sorting
based on displayed values is nothing a human user should have to do
 instead of their application.
