Beginning about 2-3 weeks ago, I started getting the error of "unable to
connect to authentication server: SSL Connection Failed" when attempting
to login with AIM. I have since installed the newest version of Pidgin
(2.10.7), and was not running any plugins.

It usually logs in eventually, sometimes taking up to 15 minutes to
finally log in on its own. Sometimes by disabling and re-enabling an
account, I can force it to work, or by hitting the "Reconnect" button it
will sometimes log in slightly faster, but something is still not working
 right.

It only does this on my home computer, not on the machine at work. Both
are running Windows 7. To the best of my knowledge, nothing had changed on
my home machine when this started to occur.

Just now, I had to disable, then re-enable, the AIM accounts in order to
get them to connect. So it's not a complete authentication failure, it's
temporary, or can be forced into working this way.
