 I've seen this problem before, but for way older versions of Pidgin. I
 can't find a ticket for this version so I'm making a new one.

 When I attempt to add a new buddy, it adds them, but they say "Not on
 server list" by their name. I can still communicate with the new buddies,
 but they always appear offline. Also, when I right click on them, "Add
 Buddy" is still an option, as if they weren't on my contacts at all.
