 Found the answer.  By right-clicking on the system tray icon, the 'Blink
 on New Message' option was displayed.  I am unable to find this option
 anywhere in the 'Preferences' which is naturally the first place I looked.
 This is no longer a feature request and can be considered a report of a UI
 inconsistency. We can often miss what's right under our nose, because it's
 not where it's expected to be by convention.  Just me, but I like to keep
 all my SETTINGS in the SETTINGS dialogues.  Thanks.  And your captcha is a
 GIGANTIC pain in the ass.
