#15527: SSL failing
---------------------+-----------------------------------------
 Reporter:  cyisfor  |      Owner:
     Type:  defect   |     Status:  new
Milestone:           |  Component:  libpurple
  Version: | Keywords: ssl tls invalid certificate
---------------------+-----------------------------------------
 Sorry, another person with problems with SSL. When testing the latest
 mercurial as of 10min ago it's still not working right. I set up a test
 server (IRC) and attempted to login to it via SSL. This is basically the
 problem here:

 {{{
 (13:09:59) certificate: Successfully verified certificate for 127.0.0.1
 (13:09:59) connection: Connection error on 0x21e4470 (reason: 15
 description: SSL peer presented an invalid certificate)
 }}}

 I can't figure out why the "connection" is considering a certificate
 invalid, when certificate logs that it's verified. I hit the Accept
 button. I'm only connected to the one SSL IRC account. It's just a self-
 signed certificate, not expired. Other interesting errors in the logs:

 {{{
 (13:18:37) certificate/x509/tls_cached: Certificate for 127.0.0.1 is self-
 signed.
 (13:18:37) certificate/x509/tls_cached: Name mismatch: Certificate given
 for 127.0.0.1 has a name of derp
 (13:18:39) certificate/x509/tls_cached: User ACCEPTED cert
 Caching first in chain for future use as 127.0.0.1...
 (13:18:39) util: Writing file /home/user/packages/hg/build/pidgin-
 main/testconf/certificates/x509/tls_peers/127.0.0.1
 (13:18:40) certificate: Successfully verified certificate for 127.0.0.1
 (13:18:40) connection: Connection error on 0x239d6a0 (reason: 15
