 For some reason at least for me fgets magic in the Tcl plugin doesn't
 work, and it doesn't even read a byte. Instead of this overly complicated
 code it's better to just call fread. Unfortunately, I don't have enough
 time to investigate why does this happen, but the replacement works
 flawlessly.

 P.S. Also, it may make sense to check g_malloc return value, but I haven't
 done this...
