 There is an option as I use it myself (not currently on Windows so I
 cannot tell you exactly where it is I just know that it is there).  I
 believe you will have to enable one of the included plugins which then
 gives you the option to enable pidgin to start when Windows does.  The
 other option is to place a shortcut to pidgin into the Windows startup
 folder which is located in the start menu.
