Comment:

 Libpurple can be configured at build time (using the `configure` script)
 to use a specified root certificate store.  Many distributions take
 advantage of this to make libpurple, and thus Pidgin and Finch, use the
 system-provided root certificate store.  This isn't available yet on
 Windows, but that's a matter of needing schannel support.  On real
 platforms, the package simply needs to be built properly.
