 Sometimes, after having been successfully run, used, and exited, Pidgin
 will fail to run on subsequent attempts. ''pidgin.exe'' shows in task
 manager, but the window never displays. Multiple attempts to run it will
 result in multiple ''pidgin.exe'' processes hung; none of them show a
 window. Killing these processes and rerunning does not help. Only
 rebooting will allow Pidgin to run properly again.

 I am on a corporate network behind a HTTP proxy by default. Pidgin is
 configured to use a SOCKS5 proxy for Internet access.

 This may be a duplicate of #13992, which was closed and never resolved.
