Comment:

 I don't fully understand the error message, but I think it's not
 necessarily a program that's causing the problem.  I think the problem
 could also be caused a flaky internet connection.  In any case, based on
 the error message and based on the fact that other AIM software is also
 unstable, this sounds like it isn't a bug in Pidgin, to me.
