New description:

 When adding an XMPP account like for example john @ doe.com and then
 trying to add a second XMPP account john @ doe.com it fails with the
 message "An account already exists with the specified criteria." (even
 though the advanced "Connect server" setting might be different, so
 technically it would be a different account?)

 Instead we add john @ different.com as a second account and now modify
 that account to our domain "doe.com". Pidgin will save both accounts and
 both accounts will work, however upon restart only one account will remain
 and the first one will be gone.
