 pidgin creates huge size hints. xprop says:
 ...
 WM_NORMAL_HINTS(WM_SIZE_HINTS):
                 program specified minimum size: 1666 by 142
 ...
 So my window manager (awesome) doesn't let me resize the window to
 something reasonable.

 At first I thought some contact with a crazy long status (and chinese
 characters) was confusing pidgin, but after disabling the account, and
 restarting pidgin, the size hint did not change.

 This has only been happening recently, possibly I switched to awesome. But
 I did try the floating configuration, again no change. No special
 treatment of Pidgin in my config, aside from putting it in a tag. And
 AFAIK the WM doesn't have an influence on the programs size hint anyway.
