 (Changed component to Pidgin--this is probably not specific to AIM.)

 I haven't experienced this before.  Does it happen for any URL of that
 length, or only a specific URL?  Does it happen immediately after pasting?
 A few minutes after?  After sending the message?  After hovering your
 mouse over the URL?
