 I am experiencing this issue consistently, as currently described under
 'Description'. Pidgin/LibPurple 2.10.6 under Linux (Mint 14).

 It is particularly frustrating because I mostly connect by mobile
 broadband these days, which can have brief (less than 1 second) outages as
 I travel.

 If you can guide me how to turn on helpful debugging information, I'll
 gladly do so and provide it. All the web-searching I've done has led me to
 debugging information for writing plug-ins, which I don't think is
 relevant in this case.
