 Most recently I've seen this issue resolved by logging into Yahoo! Mail
 and going through the process of supplying the additional information they
 want (extra e-mail address or mobile number for password recovery, setting
 up security questions, etc.).

 If Pidgin is showing this message, it is doing so because the server is
 sending us the appropriate 123? error code (1236, if memory serves) that
 corresponds to this message, and there's nothing we are aware of that we
 can do to fix it.  When the official clients receive that response from
 the server they throw up a very similar message.
