Comment:

 The current behavior is actually intentional and correct.
 Specifying that Connect Server explicitly isn't necessary unless your
 network's handling of DNS SRV requests is broken.  Additionally,
 specifying the Connect Server will result in SSL validation errors when
 you have multiple google talk accounts that use different domains.
