 I meant IM_TEXT TLVs earlier.

 The snac-fix.c attachment contains a replacement for BSF's
 imcomm_im_send_message() in imcomm/snac.c
 It adds two IM_TEXT TLVs to each outgoing IM.

 You can use it to confirm that Pidgin/libpurple does not
 display the concatenation of the three IM_TEXT TLVs, but
 AOL's AIM client and Mac OS X Messages do.
