 If I hover the cursor over a contact that is using Burmese script in their
 status message (XMPP, GTalk) then pidgin crashes.

 The offending status is non-unicode Burmese (Zawgyi font, due to the low
 rate of adoption of unicode Burmese). Here is the status that causes the
 crash:

 ႏွစ္သစ္ မွာ မေတြ႕ တာၾကာတဲ႕ သူ
