 This is the same issue as reported in #5881.  I run a Virtual Machine
 running Windows XP SP3 and have my Windows 7 set up to use it in XP Mode
 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-
 mode).  The other applications that use the Windows system tray are
 correctly displaying their icons (in my case Commodo, ThunderBird, PdaNet)
 but Pidgin refuses to show.  I've tried all selections for the "Show
 system tray icon" option but none will show the tray icon.

 For now I've resorted to pinning the application to the taskbar but this
 is a bit inconvenient as it does not work well or as one would expect it
 to work with regards to these VM Application instances.
