Comment:

 You need to quit all your existing running pidgin instances, then run the
 steps to gather a debug log including attempting to log into your account.

 If you see the message about "Exiting because another libpurple client is
 already running.", it isn't going to be useful because no work would be
 done - it just started and then quit immediately.
