 Great!  That worked out, however, should the http method ''not'' be
 considered a long-term solution?  In all of the years of using Pidgin (and
 Gaim--if it had it?), I've never had to make use of that option.

 Also, X is still showing no original contacts online; only the manually
 re-added folk.  Do you think this is a unknown MS variable and completely
 unrelated to Pidgin?  If so, I'll cease bringing it up.
