 I have a similar problem with Yahoo emails notifications.
 When i start Pidgin, I see a notification for lots of mails, lets say ie.
 10 or 20 new mails.
 But when I open my Yahoo web Mail I have no mail or only have one or two
 mails.
 There are no mails in other folders or in spam.
 I know this ticket is closed and is old but is the only one I find related
 to my problem.
