 As I understand it, mpOTR is still a developing protocol that has not got
 a stable API. Further, there's been no mention (afaict) about mpOTR on the

 AIUI, the 'original' mpOTR reference is
 http://www.cypherpunks.ca/~iang/pubs/mpotr.pdf I have no idea of the
 differences between mpOTR and gOTR nor do I really want to work it out
 myself. Further, I personally have no interest in writing group OTR
 support, either natively or as a plugin.

 Given as it'd seem the protocol/s are still under review and not
 withstanding the issues in #15513 (the OTR ticket), a plugin would be the
 best approach I think.
