 The public IP address setting (Tools>Preferences>Network>Public IP)
 validates if the input is an IPv4 address and rejects IPv6 addresses
 (they're backgrounded red, and not saved).

 This is rather important, because pidgin is detecting the zeroconf address
 (169.254.124.254) as the public IP address, which is plain wrong.
 (Actually, that's another issue; non-routable addresses can't be the
 public address).
