#16279: Unable to join AIM chatrooms, chat windows don't even pop up

I did some scanning and found there was a similar issue a couple years
back - it's literally the exact same thing. It looks like it was
technically resolved, but it's happening again, as I can attest. I'm not
GREAT with technical stuff, terms and the like, but if you give me
directions I could copy and find error messages for you - but I'd need to
 be directed where to go.

However, generally speaking, it looks to be the exact same problem that
was plaguing some people a good 7-3 years back: When trying to join an AIM
chat room, nothing happens. I'll click on the saved room in my friends
list, no window will pop up, and if I get invites I'm unable to join. I
tried restarting computer, router, and Pidgin itself (even un-enabling and
re-enabling my AIM account on Pidgin) and nothing seems to work. I updated
to the newest Pidgin too, with no luck there either (it is nice that that
certificates issue got fixed though, that was seriously irritating)

I figure maybe you guys fixed it before and then in a new build for Pidgin
forgot about it and didn't plug it in again - or maybe, in fixing the
certificates issue, that thing got pushed out because code got rewritten
somewhere or something. I don't know, either way I have this problem and I
am reporting it. I read it can resolve itself within several hours, so in
the morning I'll try at it again and see if it's resolved - will report my
 findings here.
