Comment:

 I don't believe this is a caching problem or a matter of pidgin storing
 information about your buddy.  It is a matter of your buddy is connected
 to the account using multiple resources (one of which being IM+ on
 Android).

 You can confirm this by looking at the "Get Info" dialog for the buddy -
 you'll see that there are multiple resource (and most likely the IM+ one
 has the highest priority).
