 I'm running Pidgin 2.10.9 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

I just spent the last twelve hours trying to figure this out - apparently
if Malwarebytes has its "Enable self-protection module" feature turned on,
it won't let Pidgin - or its setup files - load.

It made Pidgin freeze in memory and it can't be shut down via the task
manager or with taskkill, the only way to get it to shut off is logging
off the computer or by restarting. I couldn't even reinstall the software,
Malwarebytes blocked the installation packages - both online and offline
versions - from loading too! And it also made the CPU go crazy for some
reason. Disabling Malwarebytes -does not let Pidgin load-. The specific
module must be disabled for Pidgin to load.

The program behaved more or less the same as in ticket:15712 and
 ticket:13992.

I have already submitted this bug report to the MalwareBytes developers
through their forums. I decided to post this here too for reference in
case someone else stumbles upon this issue.
