 On Ubuntu 14.04 when I enable the pidgin-otr plugin (off the record) and
 attempt to generate a new private key, Pidgin pops up a dialog box telling
 me that a new private key is being generated. However, key generation
 never completes and eventually I receive a notification that Pidgin or
 "Generating Private Key" is not responding.

 Only after I installed the tool "haveged" to have enough /dev/random
 "content" I could create the key in a short time.

 Some people say typing random text in a text field also works as a
 workaround. Nevertheless, a hint for the user on what to do would be
 helpful.
