 I'm using the SIPe plugin, but I don't know whether this bug is specific
 to SIPe or not.  Feel free to close if you think it is.

 When a user using an IM client on Windows sends me a message that includes
 carriage returns (they paste a dozen lines from a log file, for example)
 the carriage returns are not converted to newlines but instead are
 completely lost.  This causes the lines to run together into a single
 line.
