 Delayed update: got the patch working, too, but it took a lot more
 troubleshooting to figure out what was going on the MSN account-side with
 all of their new and stupid changes.  Too many pointless headaches.

 Love Pidgin, the ongoing, (super patient!) dev support, and community.
