 So now I tried to set my password again with only 7 characters and pidgin

 Of course, this is not great concearning security reasons, but at least we
 are now closer to solve the problem.

 Funny thing is that my first password (which I had for almost 7 years or
 so) had 10 symbols, so I think they surely changed something in the
 protocol or on icq's side. What reason would the pidgin programmers have
 to restrict the password in length anyway?
