New description:

 Downloaded source code of Pidgin 2.10.11.
 ./configure runs ok and no errors
 make returns: make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.

 I have downloaded it from sourceforge, from debian.org and from github.
 Same results with all. ./configure runs ok, make returns same error.

 Unfortunately, all Debian (and it's derivatives) repos have an older
 version of Pidgin.
