 Note that direct integration is better for licensing, since libotr is
 LGPL2.1 and can thus be redistributed under GPL2+. The GPL2-licensed
 plugin would turn Pidgin into GPL2-only as well, just like the SILC and
 Novell protocols already do. It would also block use of GPL3 code. Direct
 integration could be ported from Adium, for example.
