When I try to log in to Google Talk from Pidgin (2.10.11, as shipped by
Debian), this does not work, with the message "Geen toestemming" ("no
access"). Shortly afterwards, I get an email from google, claiming that
 the login attempt was blocked:

Iemand heeft zojuist geprobeerd in te loggen op uw Google-account
xxxxxxxx at gmail.com vanuit een app die niet voldoet aan de moderne
 beveiligingsnormen.

 which translates to

Somebody just tried to log in to your Google account xxxxxxxx at gmail.com
from an app which does not comply with the modern security requirements.

I'm not sure whether this is Debian-specific. If so, feel free to close
 the ticket.
